What is a contactless spray tan?
You tan yourself in a private automated suite rather than being sprayed by hand. You let yourself in with the app, choose your solution, and the booth guides you through each position. A single spray takes about four minutes; double leg and double body sprays take six to eight. You're in the suite on your own. Nobody sees you and nobody touches you.
Where are the studios?
Belfast is at 283 Woodstock Road, BT6 8PR. Bangor is at Unit 2b, Bingham Mall, BT20 5BQ, in the town centre. Both are open 6am until midnight, seven days a week.
How do I get in?
Book on the portal, then download the app and sign in with the details you booked with. At your appointment time, open the app, tap Check In and scan at the door reader. If anything is unclear, ring the number on the door.
Is there anyone there if I need help?
Yes. Both Belfast and Bangor are staffed, and if you need a hand there is usually someone about. Nobody comes into the room with you, so you still tan in complete privacy, but if you would like help getting started just ring the number on the door and we will come to you. The studios are also built to run without us, so you can tan on your own at any hour if you would rather.
Which solution should I choose?
Golden Hour is our rich cocoa bronze base, which neutralises unwanted orange tones, and the safest first choice. Summer Skin gives a classic warm bronze. Ultra Bronze is the deepest, for formals and events. Bare Glow is clear, with no instant bronzer, so nothing transfers onto clothing. Ultra Bronze and Bare Glow are available in Bangor.
How long before I shower?
All four begin to develop from around four hours, and all four reach their deepest and most even result at 24 hours. The longer you leave it before rinsing, the deeper the colour goes. Rinse in lukewarm water with no soap until the water runs clear, then pat dry rather than rub.
When should I tan before a holiday?
One day before you fly. The colour has time to settle and any instant bronzer has rinsed away, so there is nothing to transfer on the plane. Travel in loose clothing and avoid tight waistbands or bra straps, since pressure and heat on a fresh tan are what leave marks. It keeps deepening after the first rinse, so you will land darker than you left.
What should I bring?
Nothing. Hair net, barrier cream, hair ties, disposable towels and wipes are all provided. Arrive with clean skin and no moisturiser, make-up or deodorant, and wear something loose and dark to leave in.
How long does it last?
Five to seven days, depending on your skin and your aftercare. Moisturise daily, pat dry rather than rub, and avoid long hot baths for the first two days.
Can I book for a group?
Yes. Consecutive slots mean a large party can be through in well under an hour: hen weekends, bridal parties and formal groups. Message us and we will hold the times together.
How do I change or cancel my appointment?
We need 24 hours notice. Cancel the appointment yourself in the booking portal and the tan goes straight back onto your account as a spray tan concession. Then just rebook whenever suits by clicking Spray Tan Concessions. Nothing is lost and you do not need to speak to anyone.
When can I get in touch?
Any time between 7am and 11pm. Ring 07449 979396, email glowandgotan@hotmail.com, or message us on Facebook or Instagram. If you are at the studio and need a hand, ring the number on the door.
Where can I see more photos?
On Instagram and Facebook. Real results, the studios themselves, and anything new we are running. Both are the quickest way to reach us too.
Is it safe?
Our solutions use DHA and erythrulose, which react with the uppermost layer of the skin to create colour. There is no UV and no sunbed. If you are pregnant or have sensitive skin, speak to your GP first.
